Enchanted by its allure, Sharif decided to purchase the property. However, his ownership was short-lived. In an ironic twist of fate, Sharif, known for his gambling habits, lost Lagomar in a bridge game to the British developer who had initially sold it to him, Sam Benedy.
Thus, the cave slipped from his grasp as quickly as it had entered.
Today, Lagomar Cave is more than just a historical curiosity; it is a cultural landmark. The property has been transformed into a museum and art gallery, showcasing contemporary works that resonate with Lanzarote’s unique aesthetic.
